Celebrated on the first full weekend of October, the Riverfest runs through Historic Downtown Wilmington on Water Street from the foot of Market Street to Cape Fear Community College. Currently drawing tens of thousands of people, this free, family-oriented celebration is a two-day event and has grown to be a widely anticipated annual celebration.  Riverfest was created in February 1979, by a group of Wilmingtonians interested in showcasing downtown Wilmington and the Cape Fear River and has since resulted in a cultural street festival that entices locals and tourists alike to the amazing Historic Downtown.

The Cape Woolamai Mercantile Team is excited to be making an inaugaral appearance at the Radford Highlander's Festival for 2023. We like to call Australia the 7th Celtic Nation, as the country was largely settled and explored by the Scottish & Celtic peoples. Today, Australia is home to a community of family owned and operated businesses, many of which are generations old, which are creating world-class products with roots tying back to their Scottish, Celtic & British heritage. We bring these products home to families across America.

The Radford Highlanders Festival features heavyweight games, Scots-Irish-Appalachian music, massed pipe and drum band performance, Scottish clan march, sheep-herding demonstrations, drumming circle, booths by more than 60 craft and food vendors, children’s activities and much more. Admission is free and the public is welcome. The festival is a joint partnership with the City of Radford and Radford University.

Annual Mountain Moonshine Festival 4th Weekend in October

As the years past, the Mountain Moonshine Festival had grown to become one of the most well known activities in the North Georgia area. This event generates funds that support the children in our community.

See the parade of moonshine and revenue cars to kick off festivities at 9:00 Saturday morning.
