Then there is the added wool padding which will not lie down under pressure like the synthetic fibers. It begins with extra thick wool padding under the sole, to give your foot extra cushioning. The padding reaches high on the heel to help resist abrasive hot spots. It is capped off with extra padding above the toe to provide additional protection from steel-toe boots, or for those with sensitive feet from years of hard work. The heels and toes are nylon reinforced for longer wear. The lighter weight leg and arch provide coolness and elastic knitted into the arch and ankle prevent the sock slipping into the boot.
